This is my take on the first prompt of the challenge which was vampire. I decided I wanted a 90s gothic look for the vampire character giving her a purple fur coat and a lace collar on her dress set with a metal cross to further push the look.

I received feedback from relatives who suggested I make her scarier by giving her a more menacing, which I did by adding blood splotches on the characters face.

I decided to use a character I had once used for a previous zine project. This character has the ability to turn into a dragon so I thought he would fit the prompt well. I am mostly pleased with the outcome of this piece although I wish that I done something more interesting with the lighting.

This is also another character I used for a previous zine project. I again decided to reuse the character for this project adding detail where I was unable to do so previously due to time restraints.

I am mostly pleased with the piece although the ananotmy of the witch isn't the best.

I really struggled with this one as I wanted the design to be more spooky, but I felt I didn't quite deliver on my design. I decided to create a zombie knight of some kind for the piece and I really tried to emphasize the lighting in the piece to add to the eerie tone I was going for.

In the end I am quite please with the final drawing as I feel like I captured the tone I wanted. However, I think I could of added more details to the skin and clothes of the zombie to make it seem more horrific.

For this prompt I wanted to create a scary ghost. I decided to try and make her outfit look slightly Victorian but changed her hair to be twists as I thought it could be more interesting design wise. I also made her hands more claw like to lean into a more monster-esque look.

For the final prompt I really wated to lean in on the scary factor by creating a more grotesque looking monster design. In the end this is what I managed to come up with.

I really emphasised the lighting the monsters face to make it appear more ominous. In hindsight however. I wish I gave it a more unsettling pose to push the scariness more.
